1. North Pole Breakfast, 2. S'mores (borrowed picture) 3. Santa's Arrival, 4. Window Clings (Andrew one-upped my idea when he asked to do them on the car windows), 5. Paper Snowflakes, 6. Garden LightsElf on the Shelf recap:
1. Joined us for breakfast, 2. Played the guitar (ornament), 3. Played with some toys, 4. Slept in Mason's bed (luckily Mason woke up around 4:30 this morning and I remembered I hadn't hid him yet), 5. Hid in Andrew's shoe bin, 6. Went for a drive (I also like this shot because it's the first evidence that Mason actually has a stocking).

I love all of your creative ideas for your elf! How do you get the kids not to touch it though? Or do you move it sometime during the day when they aren't looking?? Like in Mason's bed, for example. I'd love to do more creative things with our elf, but I can't get around this.
It's so fun! I have it a bit easier because I'm not actually tying it into the book. I'm afraid it will stress Andrew out because he's such a rule follower - I don't want him to think the elf will tell on him for every little thing he does wrong. : ) So, once they find him, I just move him to his 'favorite spot' on top of our hutch.
There are some cute ideas on Pinterest. You'll notice I stole a couple. : )
