I have too much time on my hands:

a much needed trip to Eburg

We were long overdue for a visit to grandma & grandpa Dyk's and this weekend we finally made it over for a visit (it was a quick one, but we packed in a lot of good stuff!). Mason had his first ride on the 4-wheeler and his first Campus burger! Andrew rode the 4-wheeler (he had been asking to ride it since he found out we were going) and even helped grandpa do some irrigating. And to top it off, we went home with some tomatoes, onions and green beans fresh from grandma's garden!

See you next weekend!

central

Have you been to Central lately? It's beautiful! The campus is beautiful, the new buildings are beautiful and the student building is amazing. We had fun exploring for a bit before heading home today.

The new student building:

The Burg (radio station), the Ballroom, the bookstore and Holmes dining hall are in there along with a gym, US Bank, all the support services you could ever want and espresso and cafe/restaurants. They even have a theater showing two movies! I feel a little ripped off!

jon solo

We headed to Ellensburg to watch Jon Solo's show at Raw Space Saturday night and celebrate the release of his first album. It was a great show!

We also had a great time hanging out at The Tav after the show. And if you can believe this, I didn't take ONE picture. I'm bummed since we were with a group of friends we don't see that often. And since the group is spread out between NY, Wisconsin, and now possibly Oregon, it might be a while before we see each other again...

I did however take a picture of this:

We took Matt & Jeannette home, and the lucky little couple got to squish in with a car seat and some cocoa puffs. I thought it would be a funny picture, but what's even better is they both decided to make rad faces. Thanks, Rings. You guys are my one picture other than those I took of Jon. :0)

see you next season

We've started a yearly tradition with the Gamradts to see an M's vs Twins game every season. The best part is the stop at Pyramid before the game. I wonder if you can just go to Pyramid and not go to the game. I'll have to look into that. :)

Kristi was very busy getting snacks throughout the game (seriously... roasted peanuts, caramel apple, and kettle corn) and Matt had to get up, leaving me and Ryan alone. Since we were going crazy with self portraits the whole time, we had no choice but to take a picture. :)

and he's off

On Saturday, Mason decided it was time to get serious about walking.

By Sunday, he was multi-tasking. :0)

such a cutie

Dear grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends with nothing better to do,

I was trying to find an old video of Andrew, and while doing so I was reminded of how cute he was when he was about 1 1/2!! You should take a look. This will take you back to June 2008.

I'm really into labeling my posts these days. I added a new category called 'like it' for posts that have pictures in it that I love. I'm hoping to go back through and label old posts so I can find my favorites a bit easier. Looks like I'll be 'liking' this whole month! :)

Thanks for loving my boys!

Love, unbiased mom, Lori *wink*

happy birthday, AJ

Today should've been AJ's 28th birthday. I'm doing this post from work and was excited to find this picture of Spike, AJ's dog, on my computer! It's perfect!

our area

We met Matt at 'our area' for lunch today. It's a really cool place for a picnic, but it is literally just the lawn to an office building. We started going there right after Mason was born and have gone pretty regularly ever since. Andrew calls it 'our area with the circle'.

Grandma Cindy, notice the bug shoes? The ones you originally got for Andrew that were too small, fit him. And he LOVES them!

Here we are inside the circle of trees. It's a really cool little spot we've found!

off to a cute start

Andrew decided to start off his day with a picnic. He laid out his blanket, grabbed some tupperware and asked me what I was going to put on all the plates. :)

Mason started his morning out trying to figure out the guitar. He was getting frustrated that he couldn't get to the buttons very easily but also refused to let me turn it around for him. I'm pretty sure you had to be there for it to be funny, so you'll just have to take my word for it. It was funny.

He also realized today that these rings fit on his arms. I think it's funny he put them all on except the pink one. And it's hard to tell, but he has four rings on his arms in this picture.

instant gratification is not found at the fair

My mom treated us to a day at the Lynden fair today! We had a good time, but I was reminded over and over (and over) that Andrew isn't really interested in waiting... He would go on a ride and love it and then complain after waiting in line for 2 minutes. Life is tough when you're '3 and quarters'. :)

The reflection in my glasses shows that Andrew is about to take a big bite of cotton candy. You can also see my mom. Nice work Lori.

When I asked Andrew what his favorite part was, he said it was the ferris wheel. I forgot how long of a ride it is, since you have to wait for everyone to load, but he loved every minute of it. And he reminded me that it was his first time.

sports: 1, band: 0

It's my favorite joke to pretend like the boys will be too busy with band to be in sports. It really is just a joke though because I think it will be so fun to go to their games and watch something that I was never, ever, not even close to being a part of when I was growing up, and something that Matt has been looking forward to since the day we found out I was pregnant. :)

Anyway, as I was moving my pictures off my camera today, I noticed a trend...

we like to eat

We finally moved Mason to the table! He's in my spot for now because the a/c is in the way, but since summer seems to be coming to an end, it won't be long before he moves over.

This is how he lets me know he's done eating - by putting his cup on his plate. Either that, or he dumps his plate on the floor. I prefer this way.

Today was my first try at letting him sit in a regular chair. He's very similar to Andrew - if you give him food, he's pretty much fine wherever you put him.

After lunch we headed to the play area at the mall. This was the first time Mason has really been able to get in there and play - Andrew loved it! He kept asking me to move him to a different area because he wanted Mason to be by him.
