I have too much time on my hands:

2 for 1

Andrew: the cute haircut expert. He loves getting his haircut because he knows he gets a sucker when he's done.

Mason's hair before the cut. I still love the curls!

This was his second haircut but our first try going without the fun car/toys/baby-friendly setup.

Mason: the calmest haircut customer ever. Thanks to him, I feel like I got a two for one deal. The total for both boys was $24. A haircut at a baby-friendly place is $25! Booyah!

So handsome!

left handed?

We've noticed Mason has been favoring his left hand lately. I know it's supposed to take a couple years to be able to tell what hand they'll use, but this left-handed mama is getting excited! :o)

he's not a baby anymore

It just hit me, I mean really hit me, that Mason isn't a baby anymore.

He hopped right on the gator and was ready to go. Too bad the battery is dead so he didn't get to really try it out. No worries though - Andrew decided to give him a push.

This was the first time Mason got really excited about Matt mowing the lawn. I grabbed our little mower and let him help out. He had fun but I'm pretty sure he knows his is a toy and was much more interested in the real deal.

Andrew used a towel as a magic carpet to go down the slide with. Mason watched him a few times and then gave the ladder a try for the first time. He could basically do it, but I was a little nervous so I helped him up. He also did the slide for the first time and loved it.

Then, just in case I still thought maybe he was my little baby, he decided to climb up on this swing thing, held on, and had a blast. Andrew was very excited to have someone to swing with. He is diggin' Mason getting older!

relaxed

We were a little lazier on our last day.

We spent a little time on the lake:

Then headed back into Winthrop for some more ice cream!

Then we spent a little time just hanging out before packing up and heading back home.

Sunday was a busy day

We had a lot we needed to fit in on Sunday.

We decided to go out for breakfast. Andrew asked to sit at the counter. :)

Then Matt and Andrew played a round of mini golf and Mason found a perfect little spot to take a break.

Then we hit what might have been the highlight for Andrew - the candy store!

Then a quick visit to the fish hatchery, of course!

We tried to make it to a view point that my boss told me about, but we drove up in the hills for about 30 minutes and realized we still had a ways to go, so we stopped at this little waterfall area instead. Matt and Andrew found some fresh bear poop!! We didn't stay long.

Then we had lunch while Matt tried to watch the Seahawks game. After lunch, Matt went to the bar so he could actually see the TV and we ventured around Winthrop. Andrew got a rubber band gun-shooter which he thinks is pretty cool. We also found a little park and actually had a pretty nice 2 hours of not doing much.

Still with me? :) After the game, Matt and Andrew did a little fishing. Me and Mason spent most of the time in the truck. Mason was fine with it.

Then. Because it was our 10th anniversary, we had a nice dinner at the Duck Brand. Happy anniversary to us!!

getting there

We spent the weekend in the Methow Valley this weekend. My boss has a cabin there and we finally took him up on his offer to use it! We had a great time and I think we came back well rested instead of needing a vacation to recover from our vacation.

It's a 4 hour drive, so getting there was a bit of a trick with the boys. We decided to go Saturday morning so we could make a couple stops along the way. Here's how we got there.

Had lunch at the Skagit River Brewery:

Stopped at Lake Diablo:

Stopped in Winthrop for the standard horse ride picture and some ice cream:

Did some last minute grocery shopping:

And finally arrived at the beautiful cabin in Twisp, just in time for dinner:
