I have too much time on my hands:

happy cinco de mayo

Mason refused to wear the sombrero.

Waiting for popsicles.

4 boys

Today was fantastic! Lisa and I met up at the park - the sun was out, the boys had a blast, and Mason played and went down the big slides on his own.

Have I mentioned that Mason thinks he's four?!

early mother's day gift

This morning I asked Andrew what he was going to get me for Mother's Day. I did it to try to catch him off guard in hopes of a funny answer. He told me he was going to get me nail polish then changed his mind and said a hair cut. He's a great gift giver! Although, a few minutes later he took it all back and said he was going to get me a transformer. :)

Then somehow I got an impromptu mother's day gift. Andrew did my hair and makeup and Mason covered my arm in heart stickers. Andrew has a lot to learn about makeup. He took the blush and rubbed it on my face because he thought the brush wasn't doing it right. :) Then he decided he needed a little make up too (and then immediately asked how to wash it off).

tulips

How can I resist fields and fields of my favorite flowers? I can't. Every year I think I can skip it, but end up going. And every year it just seems even more beautiful than the year before.

tulips {mud}

Just doing my part to make sure my boys get excited to visit the tulip fields every year...

donuts

On May 1st, I was supposed to do my first 5k (the Top Pot 5k). However, I got sick during the week that I was supposed to increase my running up to 2 1/2 miles and instead went backwards and found 2 miles to be tough again. So instead, we skipped the race and went straight for the donuts...

the rental

The bad news: we found out on Wed that our transmission went bad after only 52,000 miles
The good news: it's under warranty and will cost us nothing to fix!
The cute news: Andrew loved our rental car, especially the fact the window went all the way down.

Introducing the Nissan Cube. It's actually really fun to drive, but weird looking and it felt cheap.

We only got a rental for 2 days so we set it up for our trip to B'ham so we wouldn't have to take the truck. Here we are enjoying the 'blue box'.

Thankfully we have rad friends (Gamradts) who happen to have a spare car (Blazer with carpet on the dash) just sitting around that they are willing to let us use. Matt has been driving that to work and I've been taking the truck. We're hoping to have our car back on Wednesday. But in the mean time we're having a great time playing musical cars...

grown ups, doing grown up things

On Saturday we went out with Darin & Lisa as they celebrated their 10th anniversary! It was a really nice night, and as always, it was wonderful to be able to have uninterrupted conversation (thanks Melissa).

Then on Sunday we went out to celebrate some more grown up stuff. Ryean-Marie and Brooke both got new jobs and both will be working in Bellevue! I'm excited for them, but I'm more excited for the fact that it will be super easy(er) to have happy hours because Bellevue also happens to be where me and Kristi work! Yahoo to friends!!

Ryean-Marie was trying to get the kids to flex their muscles. I love that Rysen is smiling for my camera even though I was trying to get a candid. :)

I realize this picture is blurry, but I need to remember a few of the scariest seconds of my life... It's too long of a story, but the moral is: Mayli is not ready to do the escalator alone and I really need to look behind me to see if cute little girls are following me! Yikes.

opening day

This year, Matt started fishing earlier in the morning and I brought Andrew down a bit later. It worked out great because Matt got some time to actually fish plus he was able to get there early enough to save our favorite spot!

No fish for Andrew this time, but he still loved it.

time for dirt

I love our little secret garden.

Yesterday was the big dirt day. The boys got the garden bed ready to go and even planted some tomatoes!

the pout

Mason has the pout figured out. I find it adorable - extra adorable with a bead necklace and hat on. :)

And he's Superman.

little updates

April is our house anniversary month. After 6 years of home improvement projects, we're down to two things: big projects and tiny projects. We're going to be painting the outside of our house this year and working on fixing up our yard. In the mean time, here's what we've done...

... added planters to the porch

... added blinds to the bathroom windows

... and updated our bathroom.

The little things are fun but I can't wait to paint the house! I've been waiting to paint it since the day we put the offer in!
