how is it already time for a big-kid bed?
We went to Ikea today to pick up a shelf for Mason's big boy room. We decided to check out the beds while we were there and ended up finding one for $40! We found out that we needed to buy the slats that go down so you don't have to have a box spring, so in the end his bed cost $70. We're impressed since the one we were planning to buy was going to cost us $200!

He got right up here and pretended to be asleep, snoring sounds and all.

country village
We spent a couple very productive hours at Country Village today. The boys love their playground so we started by playing and having a picnic. Then we got Mason's haircut, checked out a toy store, watched some people feed the ducks, explored some fun little walkway/trails/bridges and bought our friend a birthday present. It was nice to not be on a time frame so there was no need for a stroller. I am loving the boys' ages right now - so much fun!

he can do it
Almost-2-year-old Mason is very big on doing things for himself. He insists on throwing away his diaper every time. He insists on putting on his pants (thankfully he now lets me help him pull them up over his big ol diaper bottom rather than crying because they get stuck) and he's also started putting his clothes in the hamper. If I try to help with any of these things before he's ready, he gets very, very upset. He insists on doing a bunch of other stuff too - a lot of it can be frustrating, but at the same time it's great that he's trying and learning and being so smart. :) (I still love any signs that his hypothyroidism isn't a problem).

animals and the back of the boys' heads

I have noticed that Mason doesn't really eat sandwiches, so I decided to try cutting it into four pieces on a diagonal to make the pieces a triangle shape. I'm not sure if that was what did the trick or if Mason was just extra hungry, but he would've eaten the whole thing if I would've let him. (He's the worlds slowest eater so I hid the last piece in an effort to wrap it up).6.05.2011

the sun makes everything better
When I got home on Friday I realized I left Andrew's medicine at school. It takes 30 - 45 minutes to get home, so the idea of getting back into the car and heading back was a bummer. Luckily it was a beautiful night, so we decided to pack dinner and head to a park after picking up the medicine. It turned out being a pretty good Friday night, thanks to the sun!
